You can format the background color of each section in a document. Like other parts of the document, different interfaces can be used:
To quickly apply a single background color , use the Color and Lines category of the Properties and Formatting dialog box.
To apply a custom color or gradient colors to the background, use the Properties and Formatting dialog box. Gradients blend two colors to create a gradual color change in the background of the section, as shown in the steps below.
To define the section, such as size, horizontal overflow, and hiding sections, see Working with sections in documents.
Open the document in Design or Editable Mode.
Select any blank area of the section, and do one of the following from the Fill Color drop-down list in the Color and Lines category of the Properties and Formatting toolbar.
Select a solid color from the list of colors.
Select More Colors to access additional color options.
Select Gradients to apply gradient colors to the section. For details, see Applying gradient colors to controls.
