Select components of your graph to format. As you make a selection in the first drop-down list, the options within the second drop-down list change. (If DHTML is disabled, you use the Format: Graph panel.)
The following settings are available:
Format:
All Texts: Select this to format the style, size, color, font, and effects of all the text in the graph.
Background: Select this to format the fill color and line color of the graph's background.
Frame: Select this to format the fill color and line color of the graph's frame, which is the area within the X-axis and Y-axis in which data is displayed.
Legend: Select this to display and format the graph's legend. Select the Show check box to display the legend and, from the Position drop-down list, select how the legend is aligned. You can also format the legend text, as well as the fill color and line color of the text area of the legend. For details, see the Graphing chapter in the Advanced Reporting Guide.

All Titles: Select this to specify the formatting of all titles for the graph. Titles include the main title of the report, subtitles, footnotes, and names for each axis.
Title: Select this to display and format
titles in the graph. Select the Show
check box to display the main graph title. Type the title in the text
field. You can use a shortcut variable to have information automatically
added to the title. Shortcuts are listed in the table in Creating dynamic
titles for graphs. You can use shortcuts in the Subtitle, Footnote, Category
Axis Title, Y1 Axis Title, and Y2 Axis Title.
Note: If you are using Internet Explorer, move your cursor
over the Details icon
next to the title field to see shortcuts.
Subtitle: Select this to display and format a subtitle. Select the Show check box to display the graph subtitle. Type the subtitle in the text field. You can use a shortcut variable to have information automatically added to the title. Shortcuts are listed in the table in Creating dynamic titles for graphs.
Footnote: Select this to display and format a footnote. Select the Show check box to display the footnote. The report's creation date and time is displayed in a footnote by default. You can type a different footnote in the text field. You can use a shortcut variable to have information automatically added to the title. Shortcuts are listed in the table in the Graphing chapter in the Advanced Reporting Guide..
Category Axis Title: Select this to display and format the category axis title (usually the Y-axis). Select the Show check box to display the category axis title. Type the category axis title in the text field. You can use a shortcut variable to have information automatically added to the title. Shortcuts are listed in the table in Creating dynamic titles for graphs.
Y1 Axis Title: Select this to display and format the Y1-axis title. Select the Show check box to display the Y1-axis title. Type the subtitle in the text field. You can use a shortcut variable to have information automatically added to the title. Shortcuts are listed in the table in Creating dynamic titles for graphs.
Y2 Axis Title: (This setting is available only if the graph contains a Y2-axis.) Select this to display and format the Y2-axis title. Select the Show check box to display the Y2-axis title. Type the subtitle in the text field. You can use a shortcut variable to have information automatically added to the title. Shortcuts are listed in the table in Creating dynamic titles for graphs.
Axes:
All Axes: Select this to format the style, size, color, font, and effects of all the text displayed on all the axes of the graph report.
Category Axis Values: Select this to display and format the category axis values of the graph. Select the Show check box to display the category axis values.
Y1 Axis Values: Select this to display and format the Y1-axis values. Select the Show check box to display the Y1-axis values.
Y2 Axis Values: (This setting is available only if the graph contains a Y2-axis.) Select this to display and format the Y2-axis values. Select the Show check box to display the Y2-axis values.
Series Colors: Select this to format
the graphical components that represent metrics in the graph. For example,
you can format the fill color and line color of bars in bar graphs, lines
in line graphs, and so on. From the drop-down list, select the metric
to format and make changes to the fill and line colors.
In Desktop, you can choose to format a metric displayed as a series
in a graph, to always display as a specific color. For example, you can
define a Profit metric to always display in green on graph reports. This
formatting overrides the formatting options you can select in the Series
Colors options. For steps to assign a specific color to a metric, see
the MicroStrategy Advanced Reporting
Guide.
Series Labels:
All Data Values: Select this to display and format data values for all metrics represented in the graph.
Format data values for a specific metric: Select a metric from the drop-down list, then format the data values for that specific metric.
Font: Specify a font type for the selected text.
Style: Specify whether the selected text appears in bold, italics, bold italics, and so on.
Size: Specify the size of the selected text.
Effects: Specify whether the selected text is underlined and/or appears crossed out (Strikeout).
Color: Specify a color for the selected text by clicking the arrow.
Fill: Specify the following to determine
how the selected graph component, for example, the graph legend or background,
is displayed on the graph.
Note: If DHTML is disabled, you cannot create custom colors
or apply gradients, transparency effects, or bevel effects.
Color: Specify a color for the background of the selected component by clicking the arrow. You can apply a color gradient, which is a combination of two colors, by selecting Gradients. In the Gradients dialog box, select the two colors to use for the gradient. Then select a shading style to determine the direction in which the two colors are blended together.
Transparency: Adjust the transparency of the color using the Transparency scrolling bar. As you scroll, the percentage of transparency is displayed in a tooltip. A low percentage causes colors to appear brighter and more solid (opaque). A high percentage causes colors to appear more faded.
Effect: Select a bevel effect, such as Chiseled Edge or Sphere. The Donut and Sphere effects work with circular graph styles (such as a Pie graph), polygonal styles (such as a Radar graph), and rectangular styles (such as a Bar graph). The Smooth and Chiseled Edge effects are not applied to any circular types of graphs.
Line: Specify a color in which to display the selected line by clicking the arrow.
